NYC 2010 on the Behance Network
It’s interesting what happens when a foreign artist of any sort captures a place as iconic & ubiquitous to the American landscape as NYC.
These photos are from France-based photographer Laurent Nivalle. On the one hand, they are of a place that has been seen countless times - in films, in pictures, in person. On the other hand, there’s a freshness to them that I think is partially due to the fact that Nivalle isn’t based in the states and consequently (or perhaps deliberately) captures New York with the innocence of someone visiting the city without any pre-ingrained notions of what it looks like.
