Work For Free Poster (via Matt Stevens)
Sketchbook 2010 (vol. 2) on the Behance Network
These illustrations by Russian artist Irina Vinnik are so unbelievably intricate. She has more work on her behance page but her website is where the real experience is. Immerse yo’ self.
The Decoder Ring Design Concern (or the DRDC) is an Austin-based design firm co-owned and operated by highly talented illustrator/designer - Christian Helms. They’ve done everything from concert posters for the likes of Spoon, Modest Mouse and the Hold-Steady to promotional work for Whataburger and SXSW.
The one thing I notice while going through their envy-inducing portfolio is how good (and by good I really mean bad-arse!) they are with type. I tend to think that good use of type in any design can take even the most modest idea and amplify it by a whole lot. With each of the work on here there’s an idea, there’s great use/mastery of type and the illustrations (particular on gig posters) are always executed so well.
In summary, I really dig this stuff, yo!
the art of alex varanese - the imprint
So over the wknd, I told myself I wouldn’t post anyone else’s stuff on the tumblr if I had nothing interesting to say about it so here goes…
Mr. Varanese has such remarkable control over the color orange… I rarely see work that says so much with such a limited color palette. I seriously dig his stuff.
